Hi I'm Joseph Brinkerhoff

I was born in Utah, lived in California, and grew up in Missouri. I'm serving as a missionary in Vegas and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a family of 6 kids; 1 younger brother and 4 sisters. My mom and dad are awesome and I love my family a lot. They are super cool and my best friends. I like to be outdoors; camping, swimming, rock climbing, hiking, and I also like to dance, preform in plays, read fiction and classics, do some doodling with a pencil, and hang out with my friends. I am interested in politics, history, dinosaurs, and learning new things about people and the world around me. I love animals and my dog, Aiden. I love Holidays; Christmas is the best, but Independence Day is awesome too. I have posted videos to YouTube because video editing is fun. I have worked in house construction, for Flying R Ranch, on farms; a lot of that kind of stuff. I have achieved the Eagle Scout rank in the BSA and I am also a member in the Order of the Arrow.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church, but I was not born converted to my faith. I grew up in the church, attended Sunday school and youth activities. I learned a lot about my faith and the Church, but I had not come to the point of believing in my Savior's Gospel. I began to struggle with my faith, who I was, and the purpose of my life in general. My life began to feel rather purposeless and I lost sight of many important things I had known, but never believed. I got rather lost and made some wrong choices. I needed a Savior, and He was there for me when I needed him. He loved me enough to think I was worth the effort of bringing me back to the light. Now I know but more importantly, I believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ is real and is for everyone. Now I am serving a mission in the service of my Savior Jesus Christ, so that others can learn the good news of life; His Gospel.

How I live my faith

I go to church on Sundays and try to keep my Lord's Sabbath holy. I don't cuss or use vulgar language because I want to respect God and others with the words I use. I fast;I go with out food or water for 2 meals once a month. The money I would have spent on food goes to help those who need it more then I do. Every Christmas I help wrap boxes and write Christmas cards for hospice patients as part of my community's "Line of Love." My dad and I visit some families in our congregation every month and do service for them. I look for ways I can include those who have been left out, because that is what my Savior did. Now I am serving a mission for my Church for two whole years in the Nevada Las Vegas west mission.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Joseph Brinkerhoff
I have come to know God in many ways but what has brought me closest to him is prayer. I have found I can always pray to him. Often when I am down or not having a good day, I can go to God in prayer. He is a great listener; I feel comforted as I pray to Him. But the best part comes as I listen to Him; the feelings and thoughts I get when I ponder are testaments to me of God's existence and love. The greatest feeling I have felt is the peace and assurance that God is pleased with my work and effort; with me. I love God and I know he loves me; you can know these things as I have learned them, through prayer. Show more Show less
