Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in the PNW. I love learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student at BYU studying Family Studies and working to become a Counselor. I've put that on pause to serve as a missionary in Oklahoma! I've grown up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but both of my parents are converts. I grew up surrounded by green, it's part of living in Oregon. That and it constantly rains. I've always been fascinated by plants because of this. How they live, how they die, and how they benefit almost everything around them. I would love to work towards becoming a Master Gardener!

Why I am a Mormon

Although i grew up in the Church there was a time where i had to decided for myself if it was true. It wasn't one specific moment but rather a myriad of moments. I felt the most peace when i was outside in nature, surrounded by His creations. I am continually in awe of all that He does for His children. He loves us so much, and that's something i remember being taught from a very young age. That i am a daughter of an Almighty God. The truths taught by the LDS Church have rung true at so many different instances in my life. I find peace with the Gospel that cannot be imitated by anything else in this world. I find immense amount of joy when i align my will with Heavenly Fathers will, however difficult that may be. I find clarity in each page of the Book of Mormon as i read it over and over again. This life is not easy, but i find joy in the journey as i learn more of my Saviour and strive to do all that i can to emulate His example.

How I live my faith

I love meeting new people from all different backgrounds. I believe that we all bring a certain spice of life to the world around us and i love that. I worked at a coffee shop for awhile (i stuck to our Italian sodas!) and i loved having discussions with customers on slow days. We would talk about life and religion and share ideas and testimonies. I love connecting with people and sharing what brings me the most joy, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
