Hi I'm Alec Perez

I grew up in Saint George Utah. I just graduated high school. I love sports and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Alec. I'm a recent high school graduate. I am also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have been my whole life. I plan to serve a two year LDS mission come July, in the Spain, Madrid mission. Hobbies of mine include lots of sports, music, anything outdoors like camping, biking, or hiking, and being with friends or family. I've been playing soccer since age 7 on club and high school teams. I also have been involved in my high school band for the past 9 years in percussion. I also love to play the drum set. My favorite thing to do is to spend time with friends or family while playing games, sports, or other adventurous activities.

Why I am a Mormon

The LDS is more than just a belief or practice once a week on Sunday. The LDS church is a way of life. I choose to be a member of this church because I know of its truth through personal revelation given to me countless times thorough praying to my Heavenly Father. I know this church to be true and I have felt its warmth and light as I have studied the Book of Mormon, prayed with real intent, and made sacred covenants with my Heavenly Father within the temple. I love the knowledge and truth that this gospel gives me as I continue to study it and be an active member within the church. I love the relationship that I have with my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ as a result of my faithful participation in his church. I know that this is the true church. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, equal to the Bible. I know that God has given children a modern day prophet, one who he reveals is plan for his children on earth through, and I know that that prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. I have a testimony of temples and the covenants made therein and the peace that the temple can give you. I know that my Redeemer, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ atoned for our sins and prepared a way for us to return to live with our Heavenly Father. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I love the LDS church. I grew up in a very active LDS family and I myself have grown to love the teachings and the members within the church. I recently was released from a year long calling involved within the boys youth program of the church. I served as first assistant to the bishop (the leader of my local ward). Within that calling I devoted many hours during the week as well as on Sundays preparing lessons, activities, and making assignments as well as organizing service events. I also oversaw the spiritual progress of the young men (ages 16-18) by tracking their progress through programs such as The Boy scouts of America program, and also a church program called Duty to God. Outside of my particular calling, I was also a home teacher, meaning I was assigned to two families and once a month I would visit those families along with my companion to share a message. I also regularly attend one of the many church temples around the world. Within the temple I feel closer to God by remembering sacred covenants that I have made with him as well as performing sacred ordinances for myself and others.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Alec Perez
I encourage all those know have a desire to know their Heavenly Father by reading the Book of Mormon with true intent. Study Moroni 10:3-5. That scripture promises that if you pray with real intent to know the answer to something, than the Holy Ghost will testify to you. I can testify to you that your Heavenly Father knows you and he wants you to reach out to him and come to know of his divine plan for you personally. He loves you and wants you to have a happy successful life. Show more Show less
