Hi I'm Austin Towns

I play soccer and run track. Love my family with all my heart. Can't wait to serve the people of Argentina! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. My parents got divorced when I was about 2 years old and both weren't active in any religions. I have amazing grandparents who decided to raise me in the Catholic and LDS church. So every other week I would switch of between the churches. I have loved this experience so much. I have learned so much and that Heavenly Father loves all of us no matter the religion. There is so much love and good that comes out of religion. I have decided to serve the Lord on a full time mission, and he has called me to the Argentina, Salta mission. All of my family is incredibly supportive. After I get back I will be attending BYU and studying business and marketing. I want to be an entrepreneur and own my own business.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that what I am doing is right. I was raised in both the Catholic and LDS faith, and I felt so much love and truth in both faiths. When I was in 9th grade, I knew that one day I would have to choose which one I would devote all of my efforts to. This wasn't a particularly hard decision because through my life I had many experiences where I would feel the spirit confirm to me that I was in the right place doing the right thing. However I have learned so much from my time in the Catholic church, and both religions share so many of the same beliefs. I was extremely blessed to have known both. I have learned and gained a testimony that I know Jesus Christ is our Savior and that he LIVES! I know the Heavenly Father knows every single one of us and the individual trials that we go through. I know that our trials are meant to strengthen us, humble us, and help us grow closer to him. I have such a big testimony that through Jesus Christ and God all things are possible. I know that if we pray with a sincere heart and have faith that are prayers are answered in the best way for us. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that through Heavenly Father and the spirit was able to translate the Book of Mormon, and was given the keys of the priesthood to pass down to us. I know that the Prophet and Apostles are called of God and are just like in the olden day, lead our church in these latter days. They give us direction, they love us, and help us to live our lives closer to the way Jesus lived his. I know through this church we can live with our Father in heaven again with our eternal families. I know that I will be with my loving and amazing family for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by showing my love for others. I serve my community whenever it is possible. I enjoy to learn about the gospel and be able to share what I have learned with my family and leaders and get their input. I do my very best to be a good example for my family, friends, and myself. I attend seminary (church classes), and visit the temple as much as I can. Soon I will be devoting a full 2 years of my life to living my faith, serving, and sharing the gospel in Argentina.
