Hi I'm Brandon

I grew up in Michigan. I play football. I love trail running and cliff jumping. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have just graduated high school in Minnesota, after living here in Minnesota for three years. Before that I grew up in Michigan for most of my memorable life. I ran track and cross country, and played football for my Michigan High School, and played football in Minnesota from 10-12 grade. I enjoy doing things outdoors like mountain biking, hiking, and running. I will attend Brigham Young University after I finish my two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints starting this July (2016).

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church, I was born in it. But even though I never chose to join the church, I did choose to remain a part of it and continue to live the principles. So in a sense, I have chosen to join the church, even though it was already there for me, and I didn't have to find it. I have struggled to find the meaning in some of what we teach in the past, and have needed to find out why, and receive that confirmation of the teachings for myself through sincere prayer with our Heavenly Father. A huge part of my conversion is my testimony of the truth and power of the Book of Mormon. And through my testimony of that, I know that Joseph Smith was divinely called of God and that our current prophet, Thomas S. Monson is as well.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward just like any other teenage boy can. I was a Deacon's Quorum President (young men ages 12-13) in Michigan when I was 12-13 and enjoyed that learning experience to learn somewhat of how to lead a group of people. I also was a First Assistant in charge of the 16-18 year olds, which enabled me to further learn and develop leadership skills, and build on what I learned before. I have enjoyed doing various service projects with our church. i.e.) Feed My Starving Children and Eagle Scout Projects (scouting and the principles it teaches are a huge part of our church.
