Hi I'm Bob Crenshaw

I grew up in the St Louis area and love to learn about other people & cultures. I'm a retired IT professional and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Life so far has been quite an adventure. My wife and I have lived In Germany, Australia, and several different areas of the USA. I'm the father of six children and grandfather of 13, who I love dearly. In college I earned a bachelors degree in Math. I then joined the US Army and served in the Berlin Brigade in Germany during the "Cold War." When my enlistment ended, I returned to college and earned a masters degree in Computer Science. I then joined IBM where I worked for 30 years as a software engineer. Before full retirement, I also worked at NetApp and Accenture. Now I enjoy doing service in my community and church, along with spoiling my grandkids!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the LDS Church when I was in the US Army in Berlin, Germany. Two Mormon missionaries began teaching my wife and I there. I asked a lot of questions and read both positive and negative information about the Mormons. But I could feel the Holy Spirit when the missionaries were in our apartment and taught us. I could also feel it leave with them, so I felt that they were true messengers of Jesus Christ. Now many years later, the church and the gospel have proven to be a great blessing to me and my family.

How I live my faith

Over the years I have served in many teaching and leadership callings within the church. I've especially enjoyed working with the youth in assignments as a Cubmaster, Webelos Leader, Scoutmaster (twice) and Bishopric Counselor. I've also served at the BSA Troop & District level as a Troop Committee Chairman, Unit Commissioner and Assistant District Commissioner. Most recently I served as a Ward Mission Leader before my wife and I began serving a full time Family & Church History mission.
