Hi I'm Lani

Hey.. What's up! I am full Tongan, Texas born Utah raised and even better... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate class of 2015 from Itineris Early College High School and Family is very important to me. Being born into this gospel where I can be with my family for eternity is such a great blessing to know. I was born in Texas but have been raised in Utah where I work as a Remote Computer Operator to help my parents provide for our family. I am the eldest of 8 kids and if I could describe the role of being the eldest it would be: "Good Luck". Jokes aside, being the eldest is just as an important role as being a leader of any kind. It's a responsibility, a challenge, and can be a burden. As the eldest I have to experience EVERYTHING first: The first to go to High School, the first to struggle, the first to go into Adulthood, etc. and it's scary! At times, the decisions I face can be struggling as well because I know that I am leading by example and have 14 little eyes watching my every move. But, knowing how much I want the best for my brothers and sisters because of the love I have for them and knowing how much my Heavenly Father wants the best for me because of the love that he gives me; my heart is full, my mind becomes clearer, I feel happier, and with the Holy Ghost I know what to do. As much as I love spending time with my family I do love traveling, the outdoors, singing, music, sports, and movies. But even better... being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So, in other words, the whole package called, "Life." :) ]

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ because I know and testify that it is true. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church established here on this earth. I know that our Prophet Thomas S. Monson has been called of God to guide us and lead us on this earth in these last days. I know the words in the Book of Mormon/in the scriptures are the true words from God and that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore the gospel of Jesus Christ back onto this earth. I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and know that they live because I feel their love everyday as I pray and study the scriptures. I do testify that through service work we can receive many blessings and feel the love of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father as we do so. I have a testimony that all of these things are true and that everyone can live with their families for eternity after this life and if we strive to endure to the end we will return to the highest kingdom back to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ eternally happy living with our families again.

How I live my faith

After a year of pondering, praying, and preparing I currently received my calling to serve as a missionary to the people of San Jose, California. Growing up, I have always had a place in my heart to perform service work for others because of the joy it creates in everyone and anyone. Being able to see joy, love, and so much appreciation and gratitude in someones eyes, knowing that you created that by your actions, is the greatest feeling I have ever felt. When you are in the service of your fellow-man you are in the service of your God. I know that if we want to become like Christ, perfect, service work is important, for it is what Christ did while he was here on this earth. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to serve the people of San Jose, California in working to build God's kingdom but in also become like Christ. Everything positive, good, and helpful that we do for others here on this earth is service and knowing that even a smile can touch someones heart is truly amazing.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

God, your Heavenly Father, has prepared a marvelous plan for your happiness. When you realize that God has a plan for you, it is easier to understand why you are on this earth. God wants all of His children to progress and become more like Him. This time on Earth provides opportunities for you to grow and progress. Coming here allows you to: Receive a physical body. Exercise agency and learn to choose between good and evil. Learn and gain experience that will help you become more like your Heavenly Father. Form family relationships that may become eternal. By following our Heavenly Father’s plan, you—like all of His children—can someday return to live with Him and with your loved ones. You can have greater peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come. Show more Show less
