Hi I'm Jordie Smith

Born and raised in Canada. I love helping others and spreading laughter. Missionary in England London South. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a sister, daughter, aunt and friend. I have always desired to serve others and pursued education in Nursing. Now I am a Registered Nurse, working in acute mental health. When I am not working, I love spending time with my family and friends, especially with my nephew. One of my favourite things to do is go cruising in my car Myrtle singing as loud as I can. My playlist is always growing as I find new tunes. Travelling has also become something I am passionate about. Some of my favourite places include Disneyland and New York City. My next adventure begins in July as I will be serving as a missionary in the England London South Mission. I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve as a representative of Jesus Christ in the United Kingdom and share with others what I believe in.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church but throughout my life have had to find out for myself if what I had been always taught was true. This confirmation has come through sincere prayer and acting in faith by being obedient to the standards I have been taught. I can truly testify that I have had many experiences where the spirit was felt and I grew to know that it is true. The love I have for my family is also a very strong motivation in being true to my faith. One of my greatest desires is to be able to be with my family forever. Through this gospel, we have been taught that if we make commitments to be obedient to the teachings of Jesus Christ and follow through with those commitments , that we will be able to be with them again in the next life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply doing consistently those things that bring me closer to God and Jesus Christ. This includes attending church each week, prayer and scripture study and serving others. I currently attend a Young Single Adult ward where I get to serve in Relief Society. This is an organization created to promote unity among the women of the church. I basically get to plan activities that help promote love and support to each other. I also frequently attend a religious studies class where I learn more about the gospel and the Saviour, Jesus Christ. I am preparing to serve a mission in the England London South Mission starting July. As a missionary, I will be serving as an official representative of Jesus Christ and a full time teacher. My purpose will be to share what I believe in with others and provide them with an opportunity to come closer unto Christ through acting in faith, utilizing repentance and enduring to the end. My heart is filled with gratitude at the opportunity to be an missionary. This will also be a big act of faith for me but I am excited to see what God has in store for me. My life is filled with many friends and family that help me see God's hand in my life over and over again. Many experiences have taught me that he has placed specific people in my life to help me grow, love and increase my faith. I live my faith by striving to be that person for other people in my life and always have gratitude in my heart for all the many blessings that I have been given.
