Hi I'm Michael Simpson

I'm the 5th of 6 children. I hope to become a pediatrician. I love music, sports, and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Edmonton, Alberta and have lived just outside of Edmonton all my life. I am Currently serving as a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Georgia Atlanta Mission. I live in a very musically inclined home. I love listening to and playing music. My favourite instruments are the baritone saxophone and bass guitar. My other hobbies include playing basketball and football. I also have a keen interest in biology and chemistry. I've always wanted a career where I could help people become happy and healthy. Once I return home from my two-year mission I plan to obtain an undergraduate degree in Biology and hopefully go on to study medicine.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and 3 of my older sisters were converted by the missionaries before I was born. I have grown up in the church all my life and wouldn't have it any other way. There is a real sense of family and love within the church. I have many close friends and people that I trust immensely that I never would've met without the church. The gospel has brought light and happiness to my life. I couldn't imagine trying to live without that light. Having faith in God and his Son, Jesus Christ has been a real comfort to me. As I go through trials I know that they are watching over me and I can feel of their love. Looking at the world you can see so much turmoil and devastation, but the gospel helps you to see the good in all things and all people. I've wanted to serve a mission my whole life so I can help bring the joy of the gospel to those that do not yet know it. I have a testimony of the truthfulness of this Gospel and of the love that God has for all of his children.

How I live my faith

I always strive to do what is right, even when choosing the right can be difficult. Church attendance is very important to me. I had the opportunity, before my mission, to teach a gospel class to a group of men around my age at church about once a month. I spend a few of my Saturday's each month working at our temple in the baptistery. I refrain from consuming alcohol and other addictive substances, so I can always be in control of my mind and body. Daily scripture study and prayer helps me to stay steadfast in my faith. I have been working towards serving a mission all my life and I am happy to be able to say that I am currently doing so.
