Hi I'm Jamison Murray

I grew up in California. I know Spanish fluently. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to sing. From fifth grade to my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to be part of the school choir. I thoroughly enjoyed my time developing a sense of community while working on my vocal skills. In choir I traveled to workshops, attended festivals, and even passed out Valentine's Day singing grams around my campus. I also enjoy the theater. I was able to participate in seven theatrical productions while at my high school. We did everything from the Music Man to Alice In Wonderland. During my high school career I also enjoyed sports more specifically the game of football. I was part of a championship team my junior year. I plan to serve a mission for the church and have been assigned to the Guatemala Guatemala City East Mission. Upon my return I will attend Southern Utah University pursuing a degree in Chemistry.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of this church because I have been able to see the blessings of the gospel in my life. The decisions of both my parents to be members of this church has truly influenced me. There is no doubt in my mind that without the church in my life I would not be the person who I am today. I continue to be a member because I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me. I know that I am on the right course that will once again return me to live with my Heavenly Father. I have a testimony of the plan of salvation and that families can be together forever. I could not imagine myself without my family and because of this gospel I never have to. I also know that the priesthood has blessed my life and will continue to bless my life. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that through His Atonement I can be clean and feel pure. Every single one of these doctrines have been testified of its truthfulness by the Spirit of the Hoy Ghost. I've chosen to be a member of this church because I have a sure understanding that this is where I need to be.

How I live my faith

I've had the opportunity to be in the Scouting program since the age of 12. Our church believes in the high standard of morals and work ethic that this program teaches to all young males. With my troop I have had the opportunity to participate in fun activities while also developing a sense if brotherhood through the priesthood. Through scouting we had the opportunity to perform various service projects such as cleaning the homes of members who couldn't due to limitations. I also gave back to my community by completing my Eagle Scout project which turned t-shirts into reusable grocery bags. At church I am able to live my faith through the priesthood. Every Sunday I help prepare and bless the sacrament. Furthermore I have been able to travel to members who cannot attend regular sacrament meetings and deliver the sacrament to them.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Jamison Murray
No, not all Mormons are required to serve missions. Those who choose to serve do so out of willingness to share the gospel and bring people closer to their Heavenly Father. We are taught to share the gospel with those around us and mission service is just one of the ways that we as members can accomplish this goal. Show more Show less
