Hi I'm Crystal

I am a full time missionary in the West Virginia Charleston Mission, I love music and reading, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have always loved music. I started playing the piano when I was 9, and how to play the flute when I was 12. When I was in 9th grade I was able to perform at the Midwest Clinic held in Chicago, Illinois. In 10th grade I marched in the Rose Parade with my high school marching band. I am a psychology major and a sociology minor at Utah State University. I love spending time with my friends and reading. Now I am a full time missionary for the church in West Virginia.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are members of the church. On both sides of my family I have ancestors who were Mormon pioneers. My parents raised me in the church and I initially went to church just because that is what our family did, but as I have gotten older I have come to know that the church is true for myself, and I continue to attend church because I want to. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me purpose in life and fills me with joy. I have a brother who passed away many years ago and some friends who have passed away recently. I miss them so much, but I know that I will see them again. Because of Christ's atonement death is not the end! The gospel has brought me so much comfort in my times of need, and I am so grateful for that!

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly with my family while I live at home, but when I am at college I go to church with other college students. In addition to our weekly meetings at college, on Monday nights we also get together to do activities. We do service projects, play sports, have talent shows, and eat food. At church I sometimes play hymns on the piano or lead the music. I also love playing hymn arrangements on the flute for the congregation. For 18 months as a missionary, I go out and teach people about the restored gospel, and invite them to draw closer to Christ. The work is hard, but because I know the blessings of the gospel, it is so worth it.
