Hi I'm Megan Petersen

I was born and raised in Alaska in the U.S. I am a writer and an artist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a writer, and an artist. I've been drawing since I was a little girl and love animation. I've been working on a novel or well a series you could. I hope to publish the first book in the future, but those things take time.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. I loved going to church and seeing everyone, but just like anyone there's a point where I had to make the choice of whether I believed that everything I had heard was true. I had a lot of experiences throughout my life growing up that gave me the belief or testimony that it was true, but for me it wasn't until I read The Book of Mormon from cover to cover in preparation for the mission I'm about to serve that I everything else fell into place. I had heard the stories my whole life growing up, but reading it myself, and reading all of it, including the intro and praying about afterwards just testified to me that it was true, and that I was doing exactly what I needed to be doing, so I stayed because I couldn't deny the experience. It's simple and sweet, but that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I've had a lot of opportunistic to do teaching in my ward. I especially love teaching the little kids. They're so much fun and enthusiastic about the things their learning.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Megan Petersen
As a girl who is soon to be one of these missionaries I'm happy to answer this question. We proselyte because we want to spred good news. The glorious news that the gospel of Jesus Christ to which he brought to this Earth during His ministry has been restored to it's fullness. For me I'm willing to give up 18 months or 2 years to do share this message. I'm going to leave my friends, my family, my social life, and everything I've known in isolated Alaska to share this message. I can tell you that I have never found more joy than when I've shared this good news of the gospel with someone and I just see their eyes light up. I love making people smile, and bring them joy, and the gospel has brought me that, and I want to share it. Show more Show less
