Hi I'm Chris Johnson (莊長老)

I'm 19, learning Mandarin Chinese, and serving a full time mission in New York. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated High School and am currently serving a full time mission in New York, speaking Mandarin Chinese. Throughout High School, I was involved in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp, where I was the Company Commander of Charlie Company in the Warrior Battalion. I have always loved the military and have always wanted to join, but I was devastated when I learned that I am disqualified for military service due to the conditions of my lungs. While in JROTC, I was the team leader of the Cyber patriot team, where I, a few cadets and students, competed in defending computer systems. Our team was able to make it to State for the first time in our battalions history. I plan on studying Criminal Justice and Computer Science at Utah Valley University, as well as Mandarin Chinese. It's my goal to be able to serve my country in one way or another, and I feel that the Government will be the best route for myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings my family and I so much peace and happiness. It's such a comforting feeling know that we are not alone on this journey here on earth. I know that our Heavenly Father knows each one of us personally, and loves us dearly. He knows what is best for us and is eagerly waiting to help us. The truth is, being a Mormon is not easy. There are plenty of times where I have wanted to give up, but each time I turn to the Lord and to the Church for help and guidance, I am met with unconditional love and support.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve my church and increase my faith. I was a youth family historian where I would help others learn more about their ancestors. I was a member of my Stake Youth Council, where I would help plan youth activities for multiple wards. I help organize our churches home teachers as well as assign and prepare lessons for class on Sunday.
