Hi I'm Paul

I grew up in Utah. I am an attorney. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father and husband who went back to school to become a lawyer. Now I spend my days at work in an office and evenings and weekends with my family and others in my ward. At the time of writing this, I serve as an assistant scoutmaster helping the 12 and 13 year old boys obtain great life experiences while earning fun and exciting awards. I love to go camping, hiking, and bycicle riding. I like playing with children (admittedly its because their idea of fun is more fun than most adults' ideas of fun). Though I am an adult, the other parents around me often refer to me as a big kid. "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 19:14 I have a testimony of Jesus Christ. Many times in my life I have witness miracles, felt the Holy Spirit confirming truth, and even heard the voice of the Lord. Though I am not as strong as I wish, I cannot deny what I know to be true. God lives. His Son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins, and for yours. The Lord restored His church in our time through His prophet, Joseph Smith. The Priesthood, the power and authority of God, is here on Earth again. As in ancient days, He has again called Prophets and Apostles to lead and guide us.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My family, even my extended family, were all active members as I grew up. I never doubted that the teachings of the Church were true. I always knew that this was the Lord's church. What I didn't have, until I was older, were experiences that I could share to tell people what I already knew. Through many experiences, too sacred to me to share completely online, I obtained a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Lord's Church, and prophets in our day. I have heard the voice of the Lord. I have heard the voice of His prophets and knew them to be speaking the truth. I have seen miracles. I have seen the power of the Priesthood heal the sick and bless the afflicted. I also have a strong testimony of tithing and fasting. I love the scriptures and know them to be the word of the Lord. I can give you a long list of the reasons why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but this short one is sufficient. Even if I had no other experiences than those listed above, that would be enough for me. I would not be able to deny it. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Over the years I served in a number of ways within my church. I served as a teacher in various classes from nursury (18 months to 3 year old children), to various primary classes (3 year olds to 11 year olds), teenagers (12 and 13 year olds and 15 and 16 year olds), to various adult classes. I served as a president of the adult men in my ward, ward clerk and finance clerk, ward missionary, cub scout and boy scout leader, etc. At the time I write this, I am in the Young Men's presidency (serving the teenage young men of our ward). I am also an advisor to the Deacon's Quorum (12 and 13 year old boys group), and assistant scout master for the same group. These boys are awesome! I can see that with a little more growing they will make incredible men and great tools in the hands of the Lord. Young ladies keep your eyes on these boys, they will also make great husbands and fathers someday. Besides my family and work, helping these boys grow is completely consuming my time.
