Hi I'm Talon

I grew up in a small town in Arizona. I played two years of collegiate tennis. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family that was crazy about sports. I like tennis, football, and basketball the most but I know a little bit about pretty much every sport. In high school those are the three sports i played and then I even decided to pursue tennis even further. The last two years I have been playing tennis at a community college. It was a blast! I recently graduated with my associates degree in science but I am still deciding what I want to do with that. I definitely plan on getting more education. I also love to be in the outdoors. Whether it be hiking or quading or boating I enjoy it all. I'm an animal kind of guy. My favorite animals are cheetahs and dogs but I love them all.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family but by the time I was a teenager my family had some trials and a few of my family members fell away from the Church. This was tough because I was only required to go to Church every other weekend. The other weekends I could do whatever I wanted and towards the end of high school I started finding different things to do on those Sundays. When I went to college, I was debating going to Church at all. I still thought the Church was true but I didn't know how well I wanted to participate and follow its teachings. I struggled not having anyone to go to church with. Luckily I had a very close friend serving a mission who I emailed each week. He would share a spiritual thought with me and challenge me to make sure I was at Church. This helped but I still wasn't enthusiastic about it. When my friend returned from his mission, he decided to move in with me to go to college. This was a huge turning point. I finally had a friend who helped me feel comfortable at church and who set an example for me. I saw the happiness he had everyday and I wanted to feel the same way. I agreed to meet with the missionaries. Each week they gave me a simple challenge. This lead to daily scripture study and prayer. I became happier and more patient. My testimony GREW. I know that this Church is true and I know that we are lead by a living Prophet today who receives revelation for each of us. I know that God loves each and everyone of us. I know that when Joseph Smith was 14 years old he was visited by the Lord and eventually given the authority to restore the true Church back on the Earth. I know that he was able to translate the Book of Mormon with exactness and I know that this book is the Word of God. I know that if we all live faithfully we can return to the Lords presence. I know that Jesus Christ made this possible by atoning for our sins and making it possible for us to come back to Him no matter what. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending my church meetings every Sunday. I strive to be friendly with everyone I come in contact with. I meet with the missionaries frequently and try to go out with them to help teach others when I am able. I pray morning and night and also strive to read the scriptures daily.
