Hi I'm Jack

I grew up in Raymond Alberta, I love music and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to serve a mission in Lusaka Zambia on October 27th and am very excited. One of my favourite things to do is enjoy the outdoors. I do a lot of camping in the mountains with my cousins, we like to fish hike and collaborate around the campfire. Just last week we went camping and we made a fort out of pine tree branches, I slept in it along with one other. I also like to ride horses and quad. I really love music, my favourite instrument is the violin but I think all instruments are amazing. I've been playing the violin since I was young. One of my favourite violinists is Itzhak Perlman, and I like all genres of music mostly. I love all sports especially soccer and basketball. I also enjoy reading all sorts of books especially The Book Of Mormon, the greatest of them all. I have a dog named Reggie, he is an Australian shepard/black lab and he is the best dog, I love animals! My all time favourite movie is The Lord Of The Rings and I love watching good movies, especially going to the theatres. I love the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that the book of mormon is true. It brings me so much hope and joy and when I'm feeling lost or discouraged I know reading out of this book is a sure remedy for curing my despair. Also going to church every week makes me feel so refreshed it is such a peaceful atmosphere and can help me get through troubled times. Even when I wasn't so invested into the gospel and was not doing what I should be, going to church always gave me a peaceful vibe. In High school I was having some bad times. I was very unhappy and had no hope. I would go to church every week but I wasn't living the gospel like I should have been. In grade 12 my stake took all the youth to a place called martins cove. This is an area which the pioneers from Europe walked through to where the church was being organized in Utah. We did reenactments of what happened in this holy place. The experience was very powerful I felt the spirit very strongly and this is what truly converted me to the gospel the feelings I felt there were undeniable especially in hindsight. When I returned from this trek I was a changed 18 year old and this is what led me to the path of working to become a full time missionary. I had some hardships in between that time and now but it was this experience that led me to where I am now. Preparing to serve a full time mission in Zambia Africa. I also can testify that if you read The Book Of Mormon fully and with good intent you will receive the answer that it has the true teachings of god. It brings so much joy and happiness in peoples lives it is great. When i'm feeling down I just try to remember the great feelings that I received when I finished the book of mormon for the first time. No experience can really compare.

How I live my faith

I read a chapter from the book of mormon each day and it makes me feel great. I am a primary teacher in my ward and I teach the 8 and 9 year olds. They are very wild and hard to control but it is a lot of fun. They know whats up about the gospel. I go home teaching with my dad and it is very enjoyable. I go to mission preparation every Sunday so that I can prepare and get better at teaching people the gospel and bringing them joy and happiness.
