Hi I'm Jess

I'm a big fan of blue skies. I tend to microwave my ice cream. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Jessica! I'm an avid reader and history fanatic. I dream of traveling the world someday and am fascinated by other people and cultures. I am an extroverted introvert who loves people but also needs her space. I love the gospel with all my heart and am so excited to serve the people of Arkansas! I have been blessed with the most incredible family and friends and I love the life I live!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because I have no logical reason not to be. Why would I not be apart of something that enlarges every crevice of my soul? This gospel brings me hope, peace, protection, direction and belonging--but most importantly it's HOME. I grew up in the church. My parents wonderfully taught me about the people and events that took place in the Book of Mormon, and told me the stories of Jesus. I always believed it. But once I began high school, I had a bit of a rough spin. I knew I wasn't where I was supposed to be, and during this time, I had to put all my trust in my God and my Savior to help me to get back. My teaching at home was my foundation, but the lessons and experiences I was having in Seminary during this time were what really got me through it all. Seminary taught me that the gospel is PERSONAL--that God knows me, He hears me, and most importantly He LOVES me and wanted me back, and that through Jesus Christ, that was a possibility. I don't really have one moment in my life that I can look at and say, "That's it! That's when I was converted!" but these experiences helped me to gain the testimony I have today of our Savior's infinite and indescribable love for me, you--all of us. I know He is real. I know He wants us to make it back to Him. I know the Atonement cleanses, refines and magnifies us. I know there is nothing in this world that makes me happier than to live and love this gospel. And THAT'S why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live by the motto, "Have you been converted today?" This motto helps me to make sure I don't miss the little things God does for me daily. The tender mercies he bestows, the passages we read in the holy scriptures, the day to day "coincidences" we see and conversations we have testify that He is real--that what we are apart of is real, and right and true. Recognizing that we are so small and so seemingly insignificant, but that GOD LOVES US STILL, is one of my favorite gospel topics. By realizing this and then recognizing the day to day miracles that only His hand could orchestrate, I live my faith. He has given us so much, that I try to give back to Him, by recognizing and recording His hand in my life. I try to make the gospel apart of daily conversation, because that is where it belongs. To me, the gospel is not a small part in our lives, but it IS our lives. I live my faith by helping others to see just how involved God is in our lives, in hopes to be converted over and over and over again.
