Hi I'm Cannon Parker McCoy

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I report to Texas San Antonio mission on September 6, 2016. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated high school and I'm headed to BYU Provo for a summer semester. I got my mission call to serve in the Texas San Antonio mission Spanish-speaking. My grandpa and dad both served in the mission so I'll be a third-genereation Texan missionary. I enjoy soccer, volleyball, crossfit, and anything to do with the outdoors. I am the second oldest of five kids and love hanging out with them. My family and I do a lot of activities together whether it's swimming, FHE, intense basketball games, beating my dad in ping pong, riding bikes, and serving others. It's always a competition in my house and thats what makes it fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm mormon because I feel my Savior's love through this gospel. I know that Jesus Christ died for me and I can pray to Him for guidance and comfort because He knows exactly how I feel. The Atonement is real and anyone can make it back to Him through it. "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." (Isaiah 1:18) No one is perfect and Jesus Christ doesn't expect you to be. The Atonement is there for a reason. Use it and rid yourself from past sins and do better in the future. You can overcome any trial. You can overcome any temptation. You can overcome any addiction. You can overcome any sorrow and return to the happiness of the Lord. Salvation can be answered through the scriptures. Study and pray to know if they are true. (Mosiah 10:4) Put the Lord to the test. Ask with a sincere heart and a contrite spirit and I testify that you will come to a surety, beyond a reasonable doubt, that they are true. Be diligent and have the confidence. Be brave and have the humility. Our Lord is waiting to hear from you. He loves you more than you will ever know. I leave this testimony with you in the name of

How I live my faith

I was the president of my fellow 16-18 year old friends. It was a blast as we planned and carried out awesome activities. One of the most memorable activities was our 50 mile hike we did in the High Uintas. We hiked from lake to lake catching tons a fish. We all bonded together and are still such close friends. This is important because together, every Sunday, we bless the bread and water for sacrament. By being so close, we are all there for each other and one can feel each other's love. This makes it easier to come to church and feel our Savior's love. I always strive to be the best I can be and be as worthy as I can be for my friends.
