Hi I'm David

I am currently serving a full-time voluntary mission. I love the beach, family, football and California!

About Me

In high school I participated in plenty of sports. I found ways of sharing the gospel with those I meet in the sports I played. I began filling out my missionary papers while in high school and now I am serving a mission in West Virginia.

Why I am a Mormon

In high school, I participated in plenty of sports; including track, baseball, swimming, weightlifting and football. But by far, I loved playing football most! Absolutely, hands down, football was my passion growing up. I could never get enough of it. Being involved in different sports allowed me to meet a variety of people, but something well known throughout my high school was that I was a Mormon. While I was on the football team, I was renowned as the "Mormon Kid". Due to my many interactions with diverse social groups, I had compiled an obscured opinion about life and who God was, which always seemed bothered me. My opinion about God and the purpose of life had so many complexities, that it seem too extreme to be true. With this dilemma of not knowing exactly who God was and with the possibility of serving a mission at the end of the school year, I concluded that I would read the Book of Mormon. After making my decision, everything changed in my life. That year I experienced a huge change in myself. For the first time, I was could see something take root deep within me. Never did anything put me on the right path to God then when I decided to read the Book of Mormon. The most satisfying part about this process, by reading the Book of Mormon, was that I gained an understanding of who God was. I discovered that God is my Father in Heaven, that we are His children and that He loves us all. It was a good feeling. So, I just kept reading! Reading the Book of Mormon lead me to this insane Book of Mormon craze, where I just wanted to share it with everyone. This lead me to share it with others. Now I am on a mission in West Virginia, sharing the gospel that I love with everyone. I am so grateful for the gospel and everything it has taught me. This is my testimony and the reason why I am a Mormon. In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Throughout life, I have found that I can live and express my faith in a variety of ways. For the past two years I've been serving a two-year mission in West Virginia, where I've had wonderful opportunity to help and serve other people every day. Through experience, I've discovered that helping and serving others has proved to be one of the most rewarding processes of life. I have never found so much happiness in my life, than when I have been serving others.
