Hi I'm Jacob Villagra

I grew up in Hawthorne, NJ. I moved here to Utah in 2006 to be closer to the temples, especially the Prophet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always loved The Arts, especially music. Whenever there was a time when I wanted to feel at peace and have the Spirit by my side, I would turn to music to clear my thought. I'm not talking about the mainstream/common music that the world listens to; I'm talking about music that uplifts and brings the absolute best of you. Music like LDS Hymns, Classical, Ukulele, and even Piano made me feel that even when time gets hard, I can always come to music and have all the negative thoughts flow away. Singing has also been a huge part of me. They say " IF MUSIC IS THE FOOD OF LOVE, SING ON" And this is absolutely true to me. There is never a time where I don't want to sing or be inspired by music I also love Singing, drawing, playing piano and ukulele, jogging/staying in shape, teaching and helping others, and spending time with my family. I am very interested in mathematics, english, and science; I am wanting to become an Electrical or Computer Engineer in the future. I have always loved working with my hands. All these little things have been a be part of my life and form who I am. I am soon to serve The Lord in the Texas, San Antonio mission. I know that my Heavenly Father has blessed me with these talents and feelings that I may reach out to those in my mission. I do not know how, but when my mission comes, I will know.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised my whole life in the church and it has been the greatest blessing to me. As we are human, I have had challenges and trials in my life, nothing serious though. But through this times, I felt a greater peace and comfort when I came to my Savior and to start again through Him through my transgressions. I know that as we continually go to Him, we never have to worry about facing anything on our own. He will always be by our side as we strive to follow his commandments and His example. He loves each and everyone of us. As Nephi had said," I have been born of goodly parents..," I continually strive to better myself as a person by being kind, patient, loving, and understanding for them and my Savior. I am grateful that I have been born of goodly parents that have taught me to pray and to keep the covenants that I have and will make in my life. I testify that my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and that this is His church and the only true church. The Church has given happiness and peace that I could have ever dreamed of; to be with my family for all eternity and to become like my Heavenly Father is everything to me. I know I can obtain all these blessings and gifts as I continue being faithful. There will be hard times, but I will do it for my family and my Heavenly Father and Savior. Though I may not always know the reasons that my Father in Heaven have happen or will happen, I will continue putting my faith in Him and his works. I will do so and say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

How I live my faith

With all that I said About Me, I always remember to seek why I was given these talents and how to share them. I have a calling in the church: The assistant Organist. Like I said, I love playing piano and anything of music. Organ was no different; it took time to get use to but now, I adore it. Everyday, I sacrifice 1 to 3 hours practicing piano to get down hymns that the ward asks of me to play for the coming Sunday. It was hard when I first started but then I realized and felt why the Lord gave me this calling, I knew that the ward needed my talent to have music for the sacrament and to feel that Spirit. After realizing my purpose, I did as Gordan B. Hinkley was told by his father to " forget about myself and go to work." These simple words are what helped me to to carry on and push myself to be faithful to my calling. It has been on of the greatest blessings in my life. Because of music, my days go off to a great start! Music really is a blessing in everyone's life, to help them preserve ahead and to have the prize set in front on them.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Jacob Villagra
Great question! There will never be a defined answer for The Atone of Jesus Christ but the most important factor that we must know is that He suffered on the cross for us that we may overcome death and to make a way to be reunited with our Heavenly Father. Our Father in Heaven knew that we would make mistakes continually that we could not return to Him by our selves, so He prepared a Savior for us; His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. The love that God and His Son have for us is beyond imaginable that they prepared this way that we can come back to the presence of them. Jesus Christ suffered many afflictions and did so that we may never have to go through what He went through. Because of the Atonement, we can return to our Heavenly Father, live again, and to become like what He intended and wanted us to be. Show more Show less
