Hi I'm Kayce

I'm from Utah, and I love to swim competitively, as well as rock climb. I'm also a Mormon

About Me

As I said, I'm a swimmer, my favorite events include the 100 fly, and the 500 freestyle. I'm the oldest brother in a family of eight kids, with four brothers and three sisters. I enjoy engineering projects and drafting as well. I love working hard, and have had quite a variety of different skills, mostly with building. One of my favorite things to do is to build decks, and make them an art more then a part of the house. I'm also serving a LDS mission in the Charleston, West Virginia Mission, and loving it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon, because I love what the gospel teaches. I believe in it's teachings. I believe that Christ was born, lived, and then died for us, and then was resurected. I believe that Christ fullfilled the Atonement, allowing us to have the oportunity to be forgiven for our sins. I also know that God loves us as our Heavenly Father, and wants to see us become the best we can be. Through Christ I know we can become the best we can be, and though we do make mistakes, we can continue progressing, and make it back to our heavenly father again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by service. I go to the church farm frequently, sometimes even with other stakes, just to help out. I'm always willing to help, whether it be rain or snow or scorching heat, I'm willing to get out and help someone. I also live my faith through missionary work, I teach about our gospel and how it blesses us as individuals and as families. I live by example, by keeping the word of wisdom, being modest, and fulfilling my callings to their fullest.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Kayce
The Word of Wisdom was revelation from Joseph Smith, about what we should and should not eat. It teaches that we should avoid substances such as tobacco, alcohol, coffee or tea, and illegal drugs. by not using these, we are blessed with an increase in strength, awareness, and the ability to feel the Holy Ghost more fully in our lives. I know, that by following the Word of Wisdom, we are blessed with these things. Show more Show less

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Kayce
Modesty and chastity are almost inseparable. Modesty shows a respect for the body, and shows that it is sacred to the person who maintains that standard. Men and Women who live modestly are able to show that they follow the law of chastity outwardly. the same for those who do not dress modestly; they are seen to not uphold the standard to the same degree. It is also shown through language. those who abstain from using crude and vulgar language show a higher respect for their body, as well as the bodies of others. The best way to teach these basic principles are, first, to live them yourself, and then second, to openly discuss the matter with children. by doing so it shows that the parents loves their children, and also helps the child begin to set their own standard of obedience.
