Hi I'm Joshua

I play the piano. I fantasize about swords and cloaks. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the middle child of five. A lot of people say that being middle child stinks but I care to differ. I get the best of both worlds. I can hang-out with the older two and the younger two! Who else can do that? I've always wished I was a farmer. My family's had chickens growing up but that's about it. Instead of milking cows we were told we got to milk an instrument. I started playing the piano when I was seven. I didn't start to love until I was 13. Here's the thing with piano: I love to play the piano but don't love to work the piano, if you see what I'm saying. I like to play with swords. All kinds, plastic, foam, or metal. I love to get a group of cousins or friends in my neighborhood together and just have a battle or capture the flag or something. It's a good life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the gospel is true. Being a member of this faith brings so much joy and purpose into my life. It brings me closer to God and to His Son, Jesus Christ. The doctrine are clear, unchanging, and, best of all, I know they're true. This is the place to be for everyone who wants to feel true happiness in this life and partake of joy and peace with their family in the life to come.

How I live my faith

In my local ward for the past 9 months I've had the assignment of Choir Pianist. It's been a lot of fun, but not exactly the most envied position. I've enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with those in the choir. They're great individuals. I composed a choral piece and they agreed to learn it. We just performed it in church a little while ago. It was such a cool experience to have something that I wrote be sung and performed. For the past to years I've also had the opportunity to volunteer at what's called Special Needs Mutual (SNM). SNM is a program that offers disabled persons in the area an opportunity to get out of the house once a week and enjoy an activity filled evening. My position was Youth Counselor and as such I was assigned one person to be my Buddy and it was my job to be their friend. It was so much fun. Being part of this program changed my life.
