Hi I'm Megan Sims

I'm from a small town in Wyoming and grew up on our family cattle ranch. I'm a Mormon and a missionary serving in Calgary, Canada!

About Me

I am a small town girl and loved growing up on our family ranch where I spent a lot of time raising and working with show steers. I love being in the outdoors and spending time with my wonderful family. I really enjoy sports! I played volleyball and basketball in high school. I just finished up my first year of college and absolutely loved it! While at college, I loved spending time with my friends playing ultimate frisbee and going hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to grow up in the church surrounded by family, including my extended family, who are active in the church. However, I was able to gain a testimony of this gospel and church on my own. It wasn't really until the beginning of high school that I really decided for myself that this church was true and I no longer had to rely on my family member's testimonies. I know that this church is the only true church upon this earth today and it is led by a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I am so grateful for this restored gospel and for the blessing it has been to me. I am thankful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and I have seen its power work in my life. I know that through the Atonement, our sins can be forgiven and forgotten so we may live in the presence of our Heavenly Father again. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and is another testament of Jesus Christ. We can learn so much about the gospel from the prophets and stories within it. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and I am so grateful for his hand in the restoration of the gospel. I am grateful for my knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us. I know that families can be together forever through the blessings of the temple. I am so grateful for this church! It has been such a blessing in my life and brings me so much happiness. I will continue to follow His gospel because I love our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. They love us and want us to have everlasting joy!

How I live my faith

I haven't had very many callings in my life, but I still really enjoy participating in my community and ward. In my college ward, I was called to be the chorister and I was happy to be able to share my talents with my ward members. Since I have been home from college, I have been spending a lot of time with the young women in our ward and helping out with the youngsters of the church. The small ward in my hometown is full of so many wonderful youth and they set such good examples for me. I have recently been called to serve a mission for the church! I have been given the opportunity to serve in the Canada Calgary Mission. I cannot wait to enter the mission field and share my testimony of Jesus Christ with others.
