Hi I'm Zac Burnett

I am from Oregon, United States. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love music.

About Me

I love music and I love the Gospel. It's as simple as that. In High School, I did a number of different things from Speech and Debate, Student Government, Cross Country, Track, Theatre, Choir, Dance Club, Ballroom, and Scouting. I also enjoy studying and being with my family and working towards great goals.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a member beginning when I was a kid. I was a member because my parents were members. That's how almost all members who have been involved since they were born start. Then, I relied on them for most of my life, learning about the prophets in children's groups (primary is what we call it) and in youth activities. It wasn't until my freshman year of high school that I read the Book of Mormon for the first time from cover to cover. I had tried to as a kid but could never get very far. I finally decided to push through for my own self discovery to really try to gain my own personal testimony and strength in the Gospel. By the end of the following year, I had read the Book of Mormon four times in a year spending an hour or two each night studying it. It wasn't until the second time around that I really gained my knowledge of the truth. With studying consistently now, I have a firm testimony of the Gospel in the last days. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true, restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and is done in the way he had set it up when he was on the Earth. I know not only that He died for us, but that He lives! I feel His love all around me when I need it in all times of life. I now know that nothing could shake my faith in this church because I have received a personal witness from the Holy Ghost, a still small voice, that testified of the truth that burns deep within my soul.

How I live my faith

I have been in the scouting program from a young age. Music was also something that I grew up on from an even younger age than that. My grandparents, parents, and friends continued to help me pursue these to which became more and more possible as I progressed in learning in the Church. I love to write music that uplifts as well as fun things. I have served in our youth leadership programs a number of times, and as an assistant to our adult leaders for the church as well on both local and regional levels. I also am preparing/working as a full-time missionary for the church.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Zac Burnett
We love Visitors! They are more than welcome to come and see and participate in our meetings. We sing hymns, we pray, and we learn gospel truths. We start with Sacrament Meeting where we start out singing and prayers are offered. We then partake of the sacrament (very similar to communion). It consists of bread and water prepared, blessed, and passed by priesthood holders and is available to any who wish to partake. We then have speakers from the congregation. We sing, close with a prayer and go to our classes for age groups. We have a place for children under the age of 11 where they learn as well and a nursery for those 18 mo- 3 years old. We also have classes for men (12 and up) and classes for women (12-18 and 18+). 3 hours total of spiritual enlightenment and understanding. Show more Show less
