Hi I'm Annika Nielson

I'm from Utah and love it. I'm a student at BYU and I'm going on an 18 month mission to Fortaleza, Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 years old and a pretty big nerd. I love Harry Potter and Netflix as well as outdoorsy things like hiking and playing soccer with my family. I'm (most likely--I haven't really decided yet) studying Recreation Management at Brigham Young University. I've been called to serve as a full time missionary in the Brazil Fortaleza mission for 18 months and I'm super excited to serve the people there and spread the joy of the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I often hear a testimony compared to a sunrise, and that is a completely true analogy for the growth of my faith. My family are all members and I was born into the Church. I've always thought it was true, but it wasn't until I was a teenager that I actually tried to find out for myself. My support system in the Church is amazingly strong, but other people's faith isn't enough to carry one through the hard times of life. I gained a testimony of Jesus Christ, my Savior by reading the Book of Mormon and asking my Heavenly Father if it's true and if Jesus loves me. I received a positive answer and I know that it's true. I love this gospel and the beauty that it brings into the world. It heals souls and brings families together. My testimony wasn't an instant flash of truth but a slow and steady progression of knowledge and peace.

How I live my faith

My community is wonderful and really tightly knit. I served as a leader in my youth group and made some really close friends. My leaders were important role models for me and helped me reach where I am today.
