Hi I'm Christian

I'm a rock-climber, I grew up in the heart of Las Vegas, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Christian, and I'm currently serving a mission in Fort Lauderdale, Florida! I'm 18 years old, and from Las Vegas. Before I served my mission, I was a student at BYU in Utah, studying to become a mathematician. I love rock climbing, as well as back-packing and camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have an undying testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ. When I was a teenager, I considered myself agnostic. I was very much opposed to the idea of a God. It seemed to easy, too convenient. I studied a lot of science and was convinced that if there was a God, He wasn't the big man that lives in the sky. I had many debates with my parents, my church leaders, and stuck to my superficial idea that science disproves religion. I had this attitude throughout most of later teenage years, and didn't see the err of my ways until my first semester at college. At BYU, it is required to take a religion class. I didn't have a problem with this, and was actually curious to see what a university religion class would be like. This would be the major turning point in my life. I distinctly remember studying the Gospel of John in the science building on campus. There was no particular scripture but a thought came to me that maybe this was true. I read on and came on many verses that showed the conversations of Jesus to His disciples. I remember reading in John, chapter 10 thinking, "people don't talk like this". All of a sudden a feeling of total and utter happiness came over me and I realized that Jesus Christ had something special about Him, something that no one else had. It was then I gained my testimony that Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God, and later I read the Book of Mormon, and prayed to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints is true, and I received an answer stronger than anything science could provide. The answer was tangible, as if it encompassed me, and as if the Son of God himself knew my every thought, and answered my every question. To this day, I stand as a witness that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that Joseph Smith restored the original Church of Christ, and I state my witness that you can know of these things too.

How I live my faith

In my life, and especially while serving a mission, I try to exemplify what Christ would do. Right now, I am serving a mission, and in this, we dedicate our whole life for two years, to help people come closer to Jesus Christ.
