Hi I'm Holden

I am a buffalo wing connoisseur, a missionary in bella Italia, and have Brazilian blood surging through my veins.

About Me

You could say that I am a person of rather good quality. I have mastered the art of pasta and pizza. Sit me down at a Buffalo Wild Wings on a Boneless Thursday night and I will be the happiest lad on earth. I can fit a McDouble in my mouth, and sometimes my fist, but not at the same time. Unfortunately, I don't speak Portuguese, but I do speak English quite well, and Italian most days. Laying on the carpet and listening to alternative indie music in a completely black room is generally how I spend my past time if none of my friends want to hang out. My depth perception is off, probably because I might have accidentally injured my eye as a kid. Camping fascinates me and I loathe light pollution. Growing up in the country has been cool because traffic jams happen only when animals are getting herded down the street. I like to go hiking as long as it is not too steep and I can take a break to eat some snacks. I have played the piano for most of my life, and I am great at procrastinating musical numbers until the day before I have to perform or accompany somebody. I am always down to go on midnight adventures up in the mountains or to just go eat food. I like to attend bonfires and roast marshmallows and Starbursts. I love going on vacation with the fam, especially if we will be going scuba diving. Sometimes I think I am a merman. When I get home from Italy I will be heading to the University of Utah to pursue a career in the medical field, preferably as a Pediatric Physician.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the spirit that this church brings to me is pure and comforting. I was never the most active member of this church, but during my junior year of high school, things changed. My life was missing something. I wasn't my happy self all of the the time and I was not able understand why. When I started to regularly attend church again and attend the temple, my testimony started to grow and I have loved this gospel even more. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that he restored this gospel to the earth in these latter days. I also know as sustain Thomas S. Monsoon as our current prophet, seer, and revelator for this church. The atonement of Jesus Christ is necessary for us to receive eternal glory and it was through Christ's sacrifice that has allowed us to gain the opportunity to return to our Heavenly Father again someday. I also have a testimony on the power of the priesthood, as I have seen many miracles come about because of the priesthood. Having faith in this gospel can give us tremendous strength. I love this church greatly and hope that I can bring others into this church to allow them to experience the peace that I have received. I say these things In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

Since I am serving a mission right now, I basically have consecrated 110% of my life to this church and to God. So if that's not living my faith then I don't know what is. I go out every day and teach repentance and baptize converts, and at the same time growing my testimony of this gospel. Basically I am a great multi-tasker.
