Hi I'm Nathaniel Giauque

I'm 20, grew up in Utah, USA, and put my life on hold to serve in a foreign country. Now I'm happier than ever! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I recently graduated high school. I did a lot of different things throughout my time there. I love sports, in high school I played football, wrestling and baseball. It was in my senior year that I received my call to serve in Korea. I also have a passion for the medical field. In high school I received my EMT and now work part time as a Firefighter/EMT. When I return from my mission I plan to go to college to become a trauma surgeon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. As a child, I attended meetings with my parents simply because I was expected to. Then the day came that I needed to do it for me. It wasn't like a huge life changing event, I just needed to look at myself and decide whether it was for me or not. It ended up being the book of Mormon that sealed the deal for me. In seminary (daily LDS classes taught at my school), we were asked to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. Again, it didn't happen all at once, but during my reading I came to the realization that it was true. Since then I have noticed the Saviors hand multiple times in my life. He truly can make miracles happen. This realization has caused me to decide to give two years of my life in service to him as one of his missionaries.

How I live my faith

I participate in many ways in my local ward. Throughout high school I enjoyed attending our youth meetings where we would have some sort of fun activity. Once we even went and hiked some 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado. As a youth group we would also often do service. Some of my fondest memories of my community are from these times. It is amazing to me to see how many people come out to help when others are in need. Another part of my worship comes personally. I truly love reading and studying the scriptures. I always know that my questions will be answered through personal study and prayer.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?
