Hi I'm Whitney

I grew up in Olathe, Kansas and have graduated from Utah State University.

About Me

I love sitting on the porch making s'mores with my family. I'm a recent graduate and am excited to start a Master's program in Instructional Design. I try to stay healthy by going to the gym and eating right, but I love melting chocolate and dipping all my fruit in it. My husband and I love sushi, mountain biking, and being lazy after a long day of work. Just trying to smile more and worry less!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon, but I still had to discover the truth for myself. For awhile, I lived the gospel half-heartedly. Living like this led to a life where I was quick to anger and felt life-altering anxiety whenever a bump in the road came. I knew what was missing in my life: the gospel, which I knew to not only be true but the anchor in my life to remind me of what is truly important: family, serving others, and living the gospel. As I began to diligently read my scriptures, pray, attend church, and do my best to live the gospel, I was able to put my life in prospective, which led me to be noticeably happier and less stressed. I was able to instantly feel the spirit and happiness when I was doing the right things. I'm so happy to have the gospel in my and my families life; it is immensely comforting to know I will be with my husband and future kids after this life is over. Knowing this helps me remember what is truly important in this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping organize get-togethers for our congregation. A lot of us are young and starting families, so it is mostly baby showers and making meals for families who have just had a baby. I also visit with other members about once a month to see how they are doing and if there is anything I can do to help.
