Hi I'm Micaela Saint Laurent

Wanderer, hunter, runner and explorer of vast places

About Me

I am one of eight children of two converts to the church. My father, who was previously Catholic, and my mother, who was previously Presbyterian, taught me that we dont belong to a faith, but rather that we emobdy that within us. I have a passion for learning and that currently involves serving a mission in Europe, where I have been given the privilage to teach the people in the German language. On my return, I will reapply to Stanford University. One thing that learned growing up is to appreciate all of God's creations. We currently are a witness of that aspect with our "mini farm". We have a steady little chicken farm, a labradoodle, pitbull and several animals. During my earlier years, I was very athletic. All of my siblings and I were raised as runners and we spent our childhood running through the streets of Southern California. We all are outdoors passionate people and are always up for an adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon, or a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because of the atonement of Jesus Christ. Nothing is greater than the love Jesus Christ has for every single on of His children. Even the idea of that we have the ability to spend eternity with our significant other is another benefit. I spent several years contemplating whether or not I wanted to continue being "Mormon" as the title seemed to weary and rather strenuous on both social and mental aspects. I thought for a short time, that the opinions of the world was better than God's. That is not true. There is nothing in this church that is too hard. We are obedient to the laws and commandments because it is through this, that we truly can be happy in life. I truly know that this is the Church of Christ and I often quickly shrugged if off since I was raised a Mormon, but I have felt the redeeming love of Christ and can truly say that God has a plan for each and everyone of us. The question is, if we are willing to overcome the Natural Man and follow Him.

How I live my faith

I demonstrate my faith through enduring through life. Life is actually quiet an interesting experience. I have this belief that Enduring to the End, or continuning onward despite challenges or setbacks, is one of the harder aspects of faith in Jesus Christ and God. However, it is only through these challenges that we get the chance to grow.
