Hi I'm Kathryn

I'm a college student. I love dogs, hiking, rain, and am an enthusiast of all things lemon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student and am going to serve a mission this summer for 18 months. I love reading, hiking, hanging out with my family, traveling to Southern Utah, and things with the flavor or scent of lemons. I also love airplane rides and traveling. I love music and have been playing the piano since I was seven. I still love to play when I can. My favorite colors are blue and yellow, and my favorite season is spring. I am studying Human Biology right now and would love to have a career in the health field. I want to become either a physical therapist or occupational therapist.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, both of my parents were members when I was born. They have always taught me the gospel and I believe that its made me a better person because of it. As I've grown up learning the gospel, I learned how much God and Jesus Christ love me and that they want me to be happy and progress to be the best possible version of myself. When I was starting high school, I started to read the scriptures every night. I read The Book of Mormon for the first time by myself and I felt peace and light as I read it. It helped me to see the good in my life and what the gospel had done in my life as well as in the lives around me. I prayed about it and received a confirmation that it was true. As I continue to live the gospel, I still feel that light and happiness in my life because I follow the teachings of the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father loves me and that he wants me to be happy. All He asks is that we follow Christ and live the gospel, and I know I have been blessed because I have done this.

How I live my faith

I have been able to plan activities for the women in my ward. We have had a lot of fun activities like a service scavenger hunt, an Easter themed amazing race, cooking, and just good old get-to-know you games. It's fun to get to know everyone by doing fun things together that help us grow closer. Right now I teach the children in primary/Sunday school. I'm not a great teacher and am still learning, but I like to work with the kids and it helps me learn the gospel better by helping them understand it. Its fun to be with a younger group and see the gospel from their perspective. I am also about to embark on a mission for the church and serve in the U.S. for 18 months. I'm excited to share the gospel and share my testimony and why the gospel is so important to me and how it's changed my life.
