Hi I'm Alison

I love to travel. I've been to Japan, China, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. I go to BYU. I'm currently serving in Japan, Tokyo South!

About Me

I'm a young woman with big dreams! I am the oldest of a family of 6. My brother's are serving as missionaries in Argentina and Canada respectively, and I am so proud of them! I want to go to school and study acting and music and maybe a few languages! Theatre has always been an area of interest for me. I have a love of all things Disney, and the singing voice to go with it! I've spent extended periods of time in Japan, China, and Hawaii. Traveling is a pretty big deal in my book. Speaking of books, I love to read...well, pretty much anything! I am currently serving as a missionary assigned to the Japan Tokyo South Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church with a rich history of pioneer ancestors. My genealogy is partially why this church has inspired me so much. I love the stories that I'm always discovering that are full of miracles and hardships that were overcome. The LDS church has never led me down a path, or made a choice that I didn't understand at least to a degree. Even if it didn't make sense, I know that this church is true. I've always felt that the choices made by the church are inspired. I believe in this church, and that it is led by people who are inspired by God. They are trying their best and allowing God to do the rest, so why shouldn't I do the same? I believe in God and Jesus Christ. I believe in the Book of Mormon and that it was translated by a prophet of God, Joseph Smith. I believe in what my ancestors believed in when they immigrated here, the unalienable right to freedom of religion and that on this continent could be found the wellspring of God's church restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

Most of my callings at church have consisted of working with young children in Primary classes. It's something I'm good at, and usually very entertaining! Occasionally, I'll sneak into the nursery class and help my mom wrangle the toddlers for an hour. Beyond that, I try to live with honesty and integrity. Despite my love of theatre, hiding behind a mask has never been something I have felt comfortable with. I want to show my friends that what I believe is important to me and a huge part of what makes me...me! I spent a while in China as a volunteer teaching English, and I look forward to more opportunities like that in the future!
