Hi I'm Tiara

I'm was born in Guatemala, and I'm only 5'1. I love working with kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Guatemala, but I was adopted at 5 months and came to the U.S. I have lived the rest of my life in Idaho with my family of 7 boys, 3 girls. I'm the second to youngest. I'm a senior in college, getting my Bachelors in Early Child Education. However, I'm currently preparing to serve a mission. I love kids, and I've been a nanny for years. I've played the piano since I was 6, and sing various kinds of music at the top of my lungs. I also love the the outdoors, and adventuring through it in my Jeep, from the desert, through forests, or to the ocean.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an active family, which meant I went to church every Sunday, and being a Mormon was just the way I was. I'm so grateful for those foundations. However, there comes a time where each person needs to know for themselves whether the Church is true if you want to continue this lifestyle. My testimony was solidified when I was 14 years old. I had been having a very hard time being a teenager, and my relationship with my parents was not good. It was a particular day that I felt so terrible about myself and so angry, that I knew something had to change. After reading a few scriptures, I knelt down and began to pray. What had started out as a simple prayer for comfort turned into asking the Lord if the Church was true, because that was the basis of my confusion. I knew then with every fiber of my body, in the warmest feeling I had ever felt, that I could not have any doubts. Because of this, I also knew that following my parents' counsel and the commandments was the only way for me to be happy, and also that I could truly rely on the Lord to answer my prayers. I continue to live the gospel because I know how unhappy I am without following the teachings which are given from God. I have had so many experiences where the Lord has helped me, and also allowed me to help others. My relationship with my Father is strong, and because I love Him and because I love my Savior, I want to be the person they both know I can be. I truly believe we each have a purpose, lives to touch, and things to learn in this life. i decided then, and continue to strive today, to be able to fulfill my divine destiny.

How I live my faith

I have always believed that the best way to live the gospel is by example. Especially growing up and being at school, I knew it was important to simply be a good person. So many people are negative, and judgmental. Our gospel teaches us to love one another, and to support each other, which I fully believe is a perfect way to serve. I was also the music coordinator while in my student ward at college, where I organized what music would be performed during our main church meeting, called sacrament meeting which meant that I was part of the ward council. The ward council is a group of individuals from the ward that meet to talk about the needs of the ward. That was an amazing experience for me, to see how organized and loving the leaders of our church are.
