Hi I'm Rebecca

I love music. I'm a lifeguard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest child in my family and I grew up in a small town in Alberta Canada. I just finished up my first year of university studying biochemistry. I have always loved science but one of my greatest passions is music. At a young age I began taking piano lessons and from then on my love for music has grown! I have continued to learn more instruments and now play piano, alto saxophone, tuba and cello! Another one of my favourite things to do is swim. I started taking swimming lessons early on in my childhood and eventually joined the swim team to compete for a few years. From there I became a lifeguard and now work at my local pool not only as a lifeguard but also as a swim coach of my old swim team. I love spending time with my friends but even more so with my family. We love to go on bike rides, camping, on road trips and even take an evening to have a family movie night!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I was raised in the church and have loved the gospel my entire life. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in the Michigan Lansing Mission and I could not be more excited! However, deciding to serve a mission meant that I had to take some time to evaluate my testimony and decide what I truly believed for myself. Through much prayer, scripture study and faith I was given the answer that serving a mission was right for me. I am so excited to share this gospel with others. The gospel brings so much joy to my life as I am reminded of God's love and the sacrifices that have been made for me so that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again. I know that God and Jesus Christ hear and answer our prayers and that they know each of us individually and understand exactly what we are going through. I know that the scriptures can lead and guide us as well as give us comfort and if we study them diligently we can receive answers to our questions. I know that our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and atoned for our sins so that we can repent, get second chances and return to live with Him again. I am so grateful for this gospel as it brings me so much purpose and joy to my life. I am not a member of this church just because my parents have told me to be or because I was raised in it; I am a member of this church because I know for myself that it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by diligently keeping the commandments. I love to read my scriptures daily as they bring me so much joy and direction. I pray daily as I cherish the blessing of being able to be in direct communication with my Father in Heaven. I also do my best to live my faith by serving and loving others. We are all spirit brothers and sisters and when you remember that and recognize how much God loves everyone individually it puts more emphasis on the importance of serving and loving those around you.
