Hi I'm Tara

I grew up in Utah. I love to laugh, play volleyball, and sing and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest in my family and I have loved growing up in Utah being surrounded by so many beautiful temples and supportive friends who are strong in the gospel. Most of my friends are currently off serving missions all around the world and I am so excited to join them in the adventure! I have been called to serve a full-time mission in Seoul, Korea! I am a busy college student studying accounting and music but I still find time to squeeze in my passion for volleyball and my love for singing, especially in choir. I enjoy boating, dancing, jamming to good music, birthdays, and doing service.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but despite that, I still had to be converted for myself. I always believed the church was true, which is all anyone can ever start with, but I wanted to know of a surety that the gospel was true. I am grateful to teachers and parents who taught me the gospel as a kid and helped me plant a seed of faith. During my teenage years, I remember times where I felt the spirit strongly and my testimony began to develop strength and structure such as girl’s camp, seminary, and choir performances. But the real turning point in my life happened this past year in college. No one was there to keep me on track. I had my future and my life in my hands and I needed to decide who I really wanted to become. It was during this year that I decided I wanted to serve a mission, made temple attendance a priority, and finished the Book of Mormon for the first time. After sincere prayer, I received a witness from the Holy Ghost that this book is true and Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. I know that God’s power on earth is real. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life and I know that my life would not be the same without it. I know my Savior Jesus Christ died for me and suffered for all my sins. He lives and He loves us. I know that this is the only true church on the earth and that as we try our best to follow Christ, we will be able to return to live with Him someday.

How I live my faith

I believe that this gospel is a gospel of people; how we treat people, what we say to people, and who we, as people, choose to become. I strive to treat people as our Savior, Jesus Christ would treat them to bring a portion of His love to those around me. Our dear prophet, President Thomas S. Monson once said, “Life by the yard is hard, but life by the inch is a cinch!” In my daily life, I try to set small goals that, inch by inch, will one day lead me to receive the reward of Eternal Life. I show my faith by attending my church meetings, praying to my loving Father in Heaven, and feasting upon His word in the Book of Mormon. I attend the temple regularly, look for opportunities to serve, and show my family my love by giving them time. I love to share my talents and my testimony with those around me.
