Hi I'm Emma

I'm just a normal girl aspiring to do what's right and I'm a mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia for 16, almost 17, years of my life. I now call St. Louis, Missouri my home. I have enjoyed art my whole life and some have said I have some talent in the area. I also love the outdoors and anything that screams adventure! I attend school at Brigham University-Idaho in the booming metropolis (really a small town) of Rexburg, Idaho. I am currently undecided on a major. I am not too concerned about it though because I have decided to put my life on hold for a bit, 18 months to be exact, and go devote my life to the service of the Lord on a mission. I have been called to serve in the Dominican Republic Santiago Mission and I report October 2016 and will be returning home in April of 2018. I am excited to concur the challenges that this journey will present because I know that with the Lord by my side all things are possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Despite this I have not always known or believed the Gospel and its teachings to be true. I can remember when I was 11 or 12 refusing to go to church on many occasions. At this point in my life I began questioning if it was all real and true. From the ages of 11-15 I prayed , I studied the scriptures, discussed the gospel with friends and family, and I also strayed from the straight and narrow path. I cannot recall an exact moment when everything clicked. I can recall many tiny moments of hope or reassurance. I never received a lighting bolt from heaven ,but through small acts of faith by me and others I have come to a knowledge of the truth of the Gospel and the great happiness it can bring us as we live in accordance with its principles and doctrines. I know God is real. I know he answers prayers. I know that he loves me and every one of us more then we can comprehend. I am a mormon because I opened The Book of Mormon and my heart to God. "...seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you"-Matthew 7:7 "...and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost"- Moroni 10:4

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving and serving those around me. I try and do whatever it is that God asks of me. I have found joy in doing family history and being able to take those names to the temple to do Baptisms for the dead and perform other ordinances for those who are no longer living and did not have the opportunity in this life to receive the fullness of the gospel. I have found that learning about my ancestors has drawn me closer to God and to them. I often feel as if they are watching over me.
