Hi I'm Allie

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm a volleyball player. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Utah State University. I love it there! I'm studying Psychology, and hope to someday work as a therapist. I'm currently taking a break from school to serve a mission in the Georgia Atlanta North Mission! I'm loving it. When I'm living in Utah, however, I love all things outdoors. Hiking, skiing, beach volleyball- whatever it is, count me in! I've had the chance to explore all my state has to offer, which has turned me into an enthusiastic Utah girl. I'm proud of my roots!

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a family that is very strong in the church. My parents have both always held leadership positions- my father's a bishop and my mother has served as a young women's leader- and all of my extended family are members of the church as well. In many ways I was bound to be a mormon. But having a family that believes something doesn't always mean you believe it too. My faith came through the trials I've faced and the decisions I've made as a result of those trials. It took a lot of work to get to the point I'm at today. I had to search and search until I knew that the church was really what I believed and wanted to be a part of. But now that I know, I wouldn't have my life any other way. I try my best to be a disciple of Christ at all times- that is: be an example of Him, a leader; to act as He would act. I'm a Mormon because of what it means to me. Being a Mormon is so much more than just the church I attend. Because I'm a mormon, I know why I'm here, I know where I came from, and I know where I'm going after I die. I wake up each day and thank God for allowing me the knowledge and peace that comes with being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm a Mormon because it brings comfort, peace, and joy!

How I live my faith

Being Mormon is more than just being a member of the church. It's a lifestyle. It comes with a knowledge that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and I can always pray to Him. I wake up in the morning, and pray, thanking Him for another day. I've also got a perfect example- Jesus Christ- who established His Gospel on the Earth many years ago. That Gospel has been restored, and as a missionary, I get to share it with people every day! I meet people, and try to spread the good news of the Gospel. I'm living my faith here in Georgia, and hoping to be able to touch at least a few lives before heading back home.
