Hi I'm Alex

I was born and raised in Utah. I am a dancer. I am preparing to serve a mission in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old, I do all kinds of dancing like Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Ballroom, Cheer, etc. I have danced for 11 years now. I also like art, mostly just drawing, and I love music. My family is made up of me, my sister, and my mom. I also have had many different kinds of pets, and dreamed of becoming a vet.

Why I am a Mormon

As I grew up as a Mormon, there were times when I was younger where I questioned if it was true. As I pondered this question, I experienced many trials that couldn't be explained, and countless miracles too great to be a coincidence. I saw that there was a huge difference when there was no gospel in my life, and when it was there. I am a member today because of the comfort, encouragement, promises, and unity that the gospel provides.

How I live my faith

I am currently the 2nd counselor to my bishop. I plan the lessons that will be taught in our class, and I assign teachers to those lessons. I work along side my friend who plans activities for the young men outside of church. I also home teach with a man in my church that is much older and wiser than I am. We are assigned to 2 families and we go and talk with them every week about a lesson we learned or something the family wants to know more about.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The apostasy was a time on the earth where the true gospel was taken away. Joseph Smith, as a young boy, was told by God and our Heavenly Father that he would receive the gospel. This was called the Restoration. Later into Joseph's adulthood, he was commanded to teach the gospel and bring to others God's light and love, just as Christ's disciples were told to do so (see Matthew 28:19). Show more Show less
