Hi I'm Derrick

I am a musician. I started a YouTube Gaming Channel. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived my entire life as a member of the church. I have learned how to play both the guitar and cello and have developed an interest in combining both in something called "cello rock". I have completed High School and have decided to go into the medical field as a Dentist or Orthodontist after I have served a full time LDS mission. I created a YouTube gaming channel called "LegenDerry Gaming" for fun purposes only.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church by two happily married and devoted members of the church who raised me by the gospel. It wasn't until after I was baptized and later read the Book of Mormon that I was able to know for myself that this church was true. I knew right there that everything that I was taught was true and I wanted to live better because of it.

How I live my faith

I have helped in a few callings designed specifically for Young men, usually from 12-17 year old. These callings are to lead them closer to our Heavenly Father through various activities that are both fun and spiritual. Having only lived in Utah, I have grown up in the church. I have taken what we have for granted until I spent a week in NYC. There, I saw how strong the members faith was due to where they lived in relation to where I lived. I took what I had learned there and brought it back home and taught my fellow youth.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

Derrick
Anyone who wants to join can. Our church welcomes all. As for the priesthood, any worthy man can receive the priesthood. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Derrick
No. I would refer to the Official Church Answer because I have lived in a culture that has mainly Mormons, but I have had met a few people who weren't. I have helped some of those people realize that quitting school was not a good idea if they wanted to do what they wanted to do for a career. I have even helped others feel important, welcome, loved, etc. I know that I will be helping others on a mission when I get to that point pretty soon. Show more Show less
