Hi I'm Channing Seegmiller

I grew up in American Fork, Utah, but currently live in Mesa, Arizona. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, and moved to Arizona my senior year. While hard, moving was something that helped me to grow closer to my Heavenly Father in my trials and improve my testimony of the temple by attending as often as I could after school. I grew up training in a dance studio, and have been on the dance team at my college I have attended over the last year. I love spending time with my family and doing outdoor activities. The most important thing to me in this life is the gospel of Christ and my family whom I can be together with for eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because this is Jesus Christ's true church restored to the earth in these latter day times. I grew up in the church, and I have grown to have a strong testimony of my Savior, and His love for me and all His children on this earth. I know that He knows me, and understands my struggles every single day and is there for me to turn to and wants to help me, so long as I ask. He listens when I pray, and I can feel in my heart the love He has for me. That knowledge alone, means the world to me. I can go to my Heavenly Father with a question in prayer, and find answers when I search the scriptures. What a blessing! We never have to go through any of the hard things in life alone, because of Him. He is there for us when we mess up. He's there, whether or not we feel we deserve it. He loves us and wishes for us to be with Him again. I truly have a testimony that this church has the restored gospel and has modern day prophets, and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith first and foremost by doing my best to be an example of a follower of Jesus Christ in my everyday life. I have been moving around a lot recently, but in my old homeward I participated by being a member of the Stake Youth Committee where I helped to organize activities for youth in the stake and the Stake Youth Choir. I loved being involved in the stake because I was able to meet so many people and doing what I could to serve in the ward made me happy and helped me to feel the spirit more.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Channing Seegmiller
Nope! Serving a mission is not a requirement made by the church. It is strongly recommended though, for young men. It is up to young women whether or not they wish to go on a mission. However, missionary service is completely voluntary for both men and women. Serving is a personal decision! That is something that you decide with your Heavenly Father. As Doctrine and Covenants, or D&C 4:3 says, "Therefore if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;" And there you have it! This church is something that brings joy, hope, and happiness through the knowledge of the restored gospel of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. We want to share of this knowledge! We want others to be happy too and grow closer to their Savior! So we choose to put aside our personal lives for 18 months or 2 years, leave our friends and family behind and focus purely on spreading this message of joy! It's not an easy sacrifice, but one that is all too worth it. I myself will be leaving to serve the wonderful people of Argentina in a few short weeks! I will be gone for 18 months, and will be teaching in Spanish! I chose to do this because I felt the desire to serve and I feel that this is where my Heavenly Father wants me at this time in my life. It was 100% my choice and I can not wait! :) Show more Show less
