Hi I'm Cole Huber

I'm from Mechanicsville, Virginia. I love to hunt and fish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the church, my dad has been a member his whole life and my mom was a convert to the church. From the time I could walk and talk I have wanted to be outside, right alongside my dad, hunting, fishing, or whatever it might have been. I also played soccer in high school and for a club team in the area. Always sporting the #1 on my jersey while playing goalkeeper. I have always known this is the only true and everlasting gospel on this earth, although at times I have gone astray. Attending a high school of 1600 where you are one of only a handful of members is tough. Temptation is around every single corner. If you let your guard down for just a second the adversary will be there waiting. It is a nonstop battle to try to live the commandments when there is so many people who try to convince you that they are nonsense.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. My parents were, and still are, great examples to me. They helped me to know of the truth of gospel, and to teach me while I was young. But just like everyone on this earth I made mistakes that kept me from fully partaking of the blessings of the gospel. I reached a point where I was beginning to have doubts about the church and about everything that I knew to be true. After i had reached this point i decided it was time for me to figure out for myself what was true and what wasn't. So, I first decided to take my sins to the Lord and then to my bishop. I made a plan with my bishop to be able to be clean again, and it was tough. I began to do things I had previously never done like have personal prayer and read the scriptures. I can distinctly remember one occasion when I was on my knees in prayer and I asked if these things were true, the feeling that I received was like burning in my chest, but a good burn, and I knew that the spirit had testified to me the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And I can never and will never deny this gospel. I know for certain that this is the only church with the fullness of the gospel because I have worked hard at it and had a desire to know. I have lived without the constant companionship of the spirit and it's rough, I want to always be worthy enough to be able to have the Holy Spirit with me constantly. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I was in the Boy Scouts and often had a lot of opportunities to do service projects, such as raking leaves, picking up trash or helping other scouts better the community with their eagle scout projects. For my Eagle Scout project I created a sensory table for a local elementary school. A sensory table is used for children who suffer from autism or other sensory disabilities. They are often filled with beans of sand which can calm them or satisfy their needs. It is awesome to see the use that it gets everyday and the joy sand satisfaction that the kids get out of it! I'm also active in my church, I often teach lessons to the youth, lead and help plan events, and occasionally speak on Sundays in front of our whole congregation.
