Hi I'm Riley Henstra

I'm Elder Henstra I grew up in Genola, I go help homeless people in Mexico every February, and I'm a mormon

About Me

Well I'm Elder Henstra, I am from Genola Utah, my parents are Sam and Amy, I'm on a mission in Charleston, West Virginia. I will be going to college after my mission. What people see me do, I am really good at helping people who need to be helped, since I was in seventh grade I have been going to Mexico to help homeless people and we build houses together, and bunkbeds, we also put air conditioning in the orphanage.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my family is. It may seem dumb, but it really isn't, a long time ago, on my dad's side of the family someone told his great-great grandfather that for four generations' your family will be in misery, and they will not find happiness. When my grandpa was in Vietnam he was converted into the church, after Vietnam he went on a mission and that changed his life for a very long time. My dad has grown up in the church as he grew up he learned a lot of stuff that many people have not yet to learned. When he was 19 he went on and LDS mission to Honolulu, Hawaii, where he taught the gospel to those who didn't understand it. He baptized many people over there. When he had come home he met my mom in a singles ward activity or something like that. Any way my mom is a convert from West Monroe, Louisiana. She always tells me that when she saw the missionaries walking they wanted to hit them and that's about her conversation story she met with the missionaries and she got baptized.

How I live my faith

Since I turned 12 I have been part of the quorum presidency and I just love helping people like I said and, they love what I help them do. I just want everyone to know how great I am some people say that some people just never change, after I heard that I realized there is a Mormon message by President Uchdorf, it's called Bullying Stop It. As I watched that there is a part where the boy in the message realized on what he had done and he felt so bad he tried and tried to fix it but something he had learned is that you may put a big impact on a person's life that you don't even know and when you realized that after you had bullied them, it might be to late. So step up and be a friend to someone that you may not know, it can be one of the biggest thing that you have ever done in your life, and as you realize that after you did a little act of kindness it can change someone's life. and maybe even yours'.

What is faith?

Riley Henstra
Faith in God is more than a theoretical belief in Him. To have faith in God is to trust Him, to have confidence in Him, and to be willing to act on your belief in Him. It is a principle of action and power. Show more Show less
