Hi I'm Morgan

I grew up in Texas, and am currently serving a mission in Rome, Italy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Texas. I play piano, sing, and (am attempting) to learn guitar and organ. I just finished my freshman year of college, and am majoring in Music Therapy. I am the oldest child, and I have three younger siblings. I have a 17 year old brother, a 14 year old brother, and a 7 year old sister. The rest of my siblings, including the 7 year old, definitely inherited the "basketball playing gene", but I missed out on that one. However, I still love basketball and am a huge fan of the San Antonio Spurs. I love lakes, frozen yogurt, and my family. I am currently serving an 18 mission in Rome, Italy, and I love the people and being able to share my love of this gospel everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have attended this church since birth, I am always trying to develop my testimony and become truly converted to His church. Many people have one defining conversion moment in their lives, but my conversion has come through recognizing the Lord's small and tender mercies in my daily life, and by steadily keeping his commandments and obeying his will. Although I am by no means perfect, I have a testimony that Heavenly Father really is our father, and that Jesus Christ is his son. I know that Jesus Christ suffered and died for our sins, and that because of him we will be able to live with our Heavenly Father again. I know that when we make mistakes, we can repent and be forgiven. I know that even after I die, I will be able to see my family again. I know that Joseph Smith, when he was only 14, was visited by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He translated the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Christ, and restored the church back on the earth. I know that we have living prophets that lead and guide us today. I have chosen to be a member of this church because I have faith in this gospel. I have faith that God loves me and wants me to return back to him. I see God's hand in every single aspect of my life. I know that he will help me in the good time and the bad times, and I am so grateful that I can pray to him and he will answer my prayers. I am constantly reassured as I study the scriptures, pray, and understand that God has a plan for me.

How I live my faith

Starting when I was young, my parents instilled in me a desire to serve the community and the people around me. As a family, we did monthly "Saturday Service" projects, where we took turns finding opportunities to serve people in the church and the community. We cleaned up highways, fixed fences, went to local food pantries, and helped people move. All of these projects helped me develop a stronger work ethic, helped my family grow closer together, and most importantly, I learned to develop a deeper love for everyone around me. Aside from family service, I also try to be involved in the church. I play piano for the church choir, play organ for church services, and I even have tried directing a few choirs! I currently am serving an 18 month mission, where I go and share the message of God's love to the people I meet.
