Hi I'm Tawnie

I love American history, the color pink, woodburning, pigs, the mandarin language and life. I am a missionary and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Tawnie, I am leaving on my mission to Tai Chung, Taiwan in a few days to become a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a history major in college, I love to wood- burn and sew and I am passionate about life. I love my family and we have fun traveling and hiking around the world. I love American history and learning about how people in the past overcame struggles and challenges to change the world. I find that most people in history who make the biggest difference and a lasting difference don't let their circumstances determine their destiny. Those who make the biggest difference in the world have faith.

Why I am a Mormon

As I have had faith in Jesus Christ, I have seen and felt his influence in my life. I have grown up in the gospel, but I have still had to continue to act upon faith and treasure up his word in order to gain a testimony for myself. I apply gospel principles in my life such as faith, repentance, charity, patience, chastity, service, and many more. As I apply these principles in my life and continue to pray for strength, I see Jesus Christ in my life and my life is enriched and full of joy. I am a Mormon because as I act upon gospel principles, I see their truth and I feel his love for me. I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have gained by keeping the commandments and acting on faith throughout my life. I am so glad to know that this gospel is true and that we can truly become like our Heavenly Father and that he loves us. I am grateful that as I strive to be faithful, Heavenly Father blesses me throughout my life. And just like we have faith that the sun will rise in the morning, I know that his Son will surly rise again.

How I live my faith

I make it an important effort to go to church and apply what I learn to my life. I find that when I read my scriptures and pray everyday, I tend to be a happier person and a more successful person. I try to see everybody as a child of God because that is who we truly are. In order to come to know Christ and to come unto Christ, we need to have faith that he is there, through the good and the bad times. In order to have faith and to continue to have faith, we need to make Christ the center of our lives and see him in all that we do. Having a desire to know Christ causes a person to act by faith and to diligently strive to keep the commandments of God. As we continually act on faith, believing in Christ, we become better prepared to do hard things the Lord asks of us.
