Hi I'm Cassidy

I grew up in Texas and Utah. I'm preparing to serve a full-time mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really enjoy being active and doing outdoor recreational activities--especially doing them with family and friends. Some of my favorite activities include snowmobiling, four-wheeling, hiking, and boating. One of my absolute favorite places to go is to Lake Powell. I have four sisters and one dog. I love sports, and played basketball all through high school. I tore my ACL and meniscus my sophomore and senior year playing basketball, and had to have surgery both times. Having these surgeries sparked my interest in having a career in the medical field. I am going to begin my sophomore year at college this fall!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have striven to build and strengthen my own testimony as I grow older. Throughout my life I have had many spiritual experiences that have strengthened my testimony. I know there is a God who cares about us individually and has a plan for each person individually. He is aware of every thought, feeling, and emotion that we feel each day. I know that this is possible through the atonement of Jesus Christ. That because He sacrificed himself, He has felt every pain as well as every happy feeling we experience. I know that Christ and our Father in Heaven love us and care about us more than we could ever comprehend. The gospel of Jesus Christ has given me more happiness and hope than can be found anywhere else. I am a member of this church because I know the things it teaches are true. I know because I have found out for myself through exercising faith and prayer. I have witnessed God's hand in my life on a daily basis and know that he has opened doors and provided opportunities that I would have never thought possible. I am a member because I love my Savior, and am so grateful for all that He has done for me. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and was a Prophet of God who translated the Book of Mormon correctly. I am so grateful to have a living prophet and apostles today that help guide and lead us. I love the standards that the LDS church has, and I know that they are there to guide us and lead us to live in a way that brings the most happiness, peace, and joy in our lives. I follow His gospel because I know that He loves me, and I know it is true.

How I live my faith

As a college student I am a member of a young single adult ward. As a member of the ward I have had many responsibilities which we call callings. Some of the callings I have served in include ward chorister, Home Evening group leader, and family history teacher. As the ward chorister I would lead the music in meetings. The leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have asked and told us to hold weekly family meetings which we call Family Home Evening. Because as college students we are not living with our families, we meet in groups to hold our own home evenings every Monday night. As a Home Evening group leader I would organize and plan activities and spiritual thoughts to do with our group. Another thing our leaders have asked us to participate in is family history. We believe that we are able to perform ordinances for those who have passed away, and how we are able to do this is by beginning with family history. By finding records, dates, and events in peoples lives we are able to verify their information which enables us to perform ordinances in their behalf in one of our LDS temples. As a Family History teacher I would help teach other members in our ward how to do family history.
