Hi I'm MaKelle

I was born and raised in the Uintah Basin in Utah. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a writer. I write fiction/fantasy books. I also write arrangements to hymns on the piano. I play soccer. I am about to serve a mission in Yakima Washington.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and have felt the truthfulness of the Book. The validity of the Church is based on The Book of Mormon. Because I have found out for myself that it is true, I will stick to that feeling because I cannot deny the experiences I have had while reading the Book. This Gospel is everything to me and is the reason that I am who I am today. It has made me happier than anything else ever has.

How I live my faith

I am the chorister for my ward. I pick out the songs that we sing and the musical numbers that are played. I also play the piano sometimes. I have been called to serve a mission to Yakima Washington.

What is the First Vision?

MaKelle
Joseph Smith, a 14 year old boy, wanted to know which church to join. He searched out many different churches but never felt like he had found the right one. They all claimed to believe in the Bible and yet there were so many different churches. They all 'interpreted the same verse of scripture so differently' that it was impossible for him to know which was correct. (Joseph Smith History chapter 1) He was one day reading in the book of James. He read James 1:5. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." Joseph decided to act on James' promise. In the spring of 1820, Joseph went to a grove of trees and knelt down to ask God which church he should join. In answer to his prayer, Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Him and answered His prayer. He was told to join none of the churches for they were all wrong. They all contained truth, but not the whole truth. Joseph Smith's First Vision marked the beginning of the Restoration of Jesus Christ's Church to the earth. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

MaKelle
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a record of when Christ came to the Americas. It adds to the knowledge given in the Bible and it also clarifies much of what was lost during the Great Apostasy. This book was written by prophets who were called to be record keepers. It is named after Mormon, one of the last of these prophets who compiled these records together into the book. The greatest promise in the Book of Mormon is that those who read it and sincerely pray about it will know by the Holy Ghost that it is true. (Moroni 10:3-4). Show more Show less
