Hi I'm Derek

I love to watch movies. I love joking around. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play basketball and golf. I just graduated from high school. I love mint chocolate chip ice cream the most but I love every other kind as well. I was a member of my schools student council and national honors society. I have received my eagle scout award.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member because I love God and his Son Jesus Christ. Jesus performed the Atonement for me and for everyone and because of this I am able to return to live with my Heavenly Father and live with Them in heaven. I didn't used to believe as strongly as I do now but since I started to read my scriptures more diligently and pray and I gradually gained my testimony and it was the greatest thing I have ever done. I will never stop following Christ because I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is the way the truth and the life and that I will be blessed for following and I will bless others by doing so.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving others and sharing my testimony of the Atonement and Jesus Christ. That is why I will be serving a mission to share the gospel with more people and bring them to the love of the gospel that I have. I will be serving in Porto Alegre in Brazil!

What are Mormon temples used for?

Derek
Temples are houses of the Lord. As in Jesus Christ's we believe that temples are a place that the Lord can dwell here on earth. It is in the temple that we may receive sacred ordinances that will help us to grow and to return to our Father in heaven. We may also perform these ordinances for those that have passed on without the opportunity to perform them for themselves. We have living individuals stand in their place so if they so chose, they could accept this gospel and the ordinances performed for them. Church members participate in ordinances designed to unite their families together forever and help them return to God. Show more Show less
