Hi I'm Travis

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I ran hurdles in track at my high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Mesa, Arizona in 1998. I've never lived anywhere else though I have visited many places. My favorite place to travel to is Alberta, Canada during the summer. It gives a wonderful break from the Arizona heat. I love to play sports. Throughout my life I've played soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball, and I've even ran cross country. But my favorite sport is definitely hurdles. I started running hurdles during my sophomore year in high school and continued to run until the end of my senior year. Almost everyone who finds out that I run hurdles seems to think hurdles are so scary and that I am brave for running them. But to me, they are just a sport. They were difficult right when I first started but since then, it has just become a natural ability.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church but that doesn't mean that I didn't have a choice whether or not I wanted to be a Mormon. At some point I had to decide if this was right for me and I decided that it was. His gospel brings peace and joy in my life that I would not be able to have if I chose to go a different way. The love that is present when I go to church on Sunday makes me want to stay and the other members of my church I consider my family. The Savior Jesus Christ taught by example and served others everywhere He went. Mormons follow in His example and I am grateful for the opportunities I have to serve as a Mormon. Without the Savior I don't know where I would be. I know that Jesus Christ is at the head of this church and that it is the true church. This is important to me because I know that if I follow the teachings of this church I will not be led astray.

How I live my faith

I was born into the church. As I have grown up, the church has been very supportive of me and my desires. I am an Eagle Scout and the church helped me achieve this. Serving others is very important to me and very important to the church. Through the LDS church I have been able to take part in many service activities. These activities have allowed me to meet new people and to learn of others and their circumstances that without these activities, I would have never been able to meet. I received a mission call and now I am serving in the Indonesia, Jakarta Mission. The opportunities to serve while I am in Indonesia will be numerous and I am grateful for this great opportunity.
