Hi I'm James

I live in Centerville, Utah. On July 6, I'm reporting to the MTC to go on a mission in Reno, Nevada. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a writer. I have written four books, mostly science fiction and fantasy, and have started a number of other ones. I recently graduated from high school. I am also a French horn player. These are my two greatest passions. I also play a lot of video games. I'm a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings, The Stormlight Archives, Doctor Who, and Marvel, in that order. Of course, all of these things will be going out of the window when I go to the Missionary Training Center on July 6th! :)

Why I am a Mormon

Wow, where to start. I know there's a god because life exists, and I don't believe that something like that could happen on accident. I know that Jesus Christ lives because learning, teaching, and thinking about him gives me a feeling unlike any other. I know that the LDS Church is the true church because there have been countless little events in my life that have pushed me towards being a member. When I was younger, I wanted nothing to do with the Church, but, almost in spite of my will, countless things convinced me that this was the path God wanted me to go on. There was a real, actual force orchestrating events in my life that pushed me closer to God. Also, I do not believe that something as fantastic as The Book of Mormon was written by an uneducated boy in New York. Also, the Church has had a massive positive influence on my character and I don't want to give that up. Also, I have had a personal witness from the Holy Ghost that this Church is true on many, many occasions. The list goes on and on, really.

How I live my faith

My current calling is family history consultant. I help people become familiar with familysearch.org so they can put their family trees together and perform proxy ordinances such as baptism for their ancestors. Soon, I will be a missionary. While I'm a missionary, I'll teach the Gospel to people and serve people all day long every day!

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

James
Simple, this one. Life could not exist without a Creator. I believe in evolution, but I do not believe that it could have occurred without being orchestrated intentionally. Think of it; even the simplest life form consisted of DNA, reproductive systems, organelles, etc. That could just happen to converge by accident. Plus, life itself totally shatters the law of entropy. Things go from order to disorder in the universe, yet life does the exact opposite. Life evolved from simple organisms and then increased in complexity to what we have now. It's mind boggling. Show more Show less
