Hi I'm Donny

I grew up in Ohio... and I'm a Mormon. My family is LDS ( Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ) or Mormon.

About Me

I am the middle child with two siblings, an older brother and a younger sister. I graduated this year ( 2016 ) and worked on a farm this Summer to earn money to help support me on a mission. I am 18 years old and am preparing to go on my mission to California. Afterwards I will attend BYU Idaho. I love sports, especially football and basketball. I played football my junior and senior year of high school. My mother has been a member of the church all of her life and my father joined when he was 19 years old in the United States Navy in California.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read The Book of Mormon, a volume of scripture like the Bible as well as the Holy Bible and I know what I have learned and been taught is true because I have prayed about it and have felt the influence of the Holy Spirit in my life. I have watched my parents make sacrifices for others and for our church and have seen how it has blessed their lives. I know that influence of the church has made us a closer family. I know that we will be able to live together after this life, if we are worthy, because we have been sealed together in the holy temple.

How I live my faith

While in high school I attended early morning seminary, a religion class/scripture study held at 5:50 AM. I was in Boy Scouts and achieved the Eagle Scout rank and work to help the other boys to achieve that goal. I was ordained an elder in the church a few months ago and serve as the secretary in my elder's quorum. I enjoy visiting the members of my local congregation to help them and bless their lives. Often I am called on to help administer a priesthood blessing of health or bless and pass the emblems of the sacrament on Sunday. I also enjoy visiting people not of our faith with our missionaries to help others understand more about our church.
